3. Powerpoint Presentation

  1. As a presenter, it is extremely important to engage your audience. I believe you demonstrate that through your tweet and bold color choice. The fiery red and orange tweet is juxtaposed against the harsh blue and black background, which is very eye opening to your audience. Your voice as a presenter was confident and it carried. Looking through your presentation now, it seems that your grasp on George Orwell’s writing style is very tight and his use of literary devices and how he creates meaning using them is apparent to me now, which I will greatly appreciate when I am taking the AP Exam.
However, I distinctly remember your presentation because of your strong focus of background information; not because of your author’s writing style. History has never been my forte as a student, and thought many people find the past interesting, it takes a great deal of work to intrigue me. Much of the beginning of your project was heavily concentrated on the era George Orwell wrote during. It is significantly important, I realize, but the way you focused on it drew away from the main focus; your author and his writing style. Perhaps next time you should keep the background information short and sweet and stick to your main objective.

  2. Hey there Aditya,
I really enjoyed your presentation, mostly because of the multitude of political references and complexities that had been introduced. George Orwell is one of the more interesting authors I got to learn about in the span of all of the presentations, so thank you for the information that you have provided with your presentation. It is not only valuable to learning more about George Orwell and his writing style, but I feel like the poems that you also mentioned were very interesting.
The historical context to his writing style had made George Orwell one of the more politically outspoken leaders of his time, but I had taken sometime to contemplate this even more after the presentation: How influential were the works of George Orwell during his own time. He obviously expresses all of the problems with the communistic regime in Russia at the time after World War II, but was the work as wide spread as the communistic hatred that Americans had fostered at that time? Anyways thanks Aditya, you did really well on your presentation.
    Regards,
    Manny
